IT1925 2006/2007 Semester 2
Digital Entertainment and Society (DESOC) is a course taught under the Digital Entertainment Technology (DET) diploma in Singapore's Nanyang Polytechic.
DESOC is normally a 1st year module, but during semester 2 (October-March) of academic year 2006/2007 it is being taken by a group of graduating seniors who are part of a bridging program, which allows for more in-depth exploration of concepts and activities including using Second Life for teaching and learning.
On August 2007, I presented a poster about this class in the 2nd Second Life Education Workshop at SLCC . Download the paper: [ pdf (600 KB)| doc (4.5 MB)] or full proceedings: [ pdf (5 MB) | doc (20 MB) ]
On 15th December 2006, Singapore's newspaper The Strait Times featured an article about our class. The article is not longer available online, so here it is: TheStraitsTimes-15Dec2006.jpg [422K]
